The Eureka County School District is proud to announce the opening of the new Eureka County High School Gymnasium and Recreation Center.

The new state of the art Eureka County High Gymnasium and Recreation Center will be handed over to the school district on June 1.

The Eureka County School District is proud to announce the opening of the new Eureka County High School Gymnasium and Recreation Center.

The facility is scheduled to be handed over to Eureka County School District June 1, with the announcement for the public to see the facility during the grand opening is soon to follow.  The public will be able to use the facility at certain times of the day, yet to be determined.  

The modern architecture, steel structure and concrete block building is 42,328 square feet.  The structure has three levels.  The top third floor is the west, upper entry lobby.  The building has a basketball court and two practice courts, an one-eighth mile running track around the building that cantilevers out and off the east side of the building with full glass windows affording a view of the town of Eureka while you walk or run.  

There are three classroom/community rooms, a cardio room, locker rooms, coach’s offices, training room, snack bar/concession stand and eating area. A weight room and a large wrestling area among other things the new gym will feature. 

The project was started with Phase I in May of 2012, with Phase II starting April 23, 2013.
