ladyvandalsThe volleyball team at ECHS will travel to Elko this Friday to play their first playoff match. After a complicated and somewhat hard to accept tie-breaking system, Eureka lost a 3-way tie for first place in their division to put them as the 3rd seed in the regional playoffs. Owhyee and Wells beat out Eureka via the tie-breaking system. The Lady Vandals ended their league season with an impressive 4-2 record.

Eureka will play the first match against the West 2nd seed Virginia City. The Lady Vandals opened up their season with a closely contested match against the Lady Muckers in the season opener. They eventually lost to Virginia City in that match, but not by much. Head Coach Sherri Wilker will have her team on a neutral court this time instead of playing at Virginia City. Hopefully with a strong effort and crowd support when they play Friday at 3pm in Elko, Eureka can win and advance to the next round
If Eureka’s volleyball team can take care of business in the first round, they will play either Wells or Whittell in the 2nd round the following day on Nov. 8.

The Lady Vandals have had a strong season with a long streak of wins throughout. They will hope to continue their ever improving play and play their best when it matters most in the playoffs.
