The Eureka County High girls basketball team is 9-2 in the pre-season after winning all three games in Round Mountain during a tournament Dec. 18-19.

The Lady Vandals beat Tonopah 49-20 during their first game as Katie Damele scored a team high 14 points.

Freshman Morgan Thomas had her turn leading in the scoring column with 14 points against Round Mountain to lead the Lady Vandals to a 45-31 victory over the Lady Knights.

In their last game of the tournament, Eureka beat Beatty 55-25 with Thomas scoring 13 points, while Megan Damele added 12 of her own.

The Eureka girls will take their solid record into their first league game of the season as they play at home against Carlin on Jan. 8, followed by another league contest the next day against Owhyee at home.
