Eureka County Commissioners approved:

• Approval of minutes of the Aug. 20, commission meeting;

• Expenditures of $2,557,314.43 including $436,603.56 in payroll and $5,288.68 in Yucca Mountain expenditures;

• Amendment One to Interlocal Contract between Eureka County and Nevada Public Employees’ Deferred Compensation Program, and approve Michael Rebaleati to continue as designated representative and authorized signer;

• A capital outlay purchase of a replacement printer for the Recorder/Auditor’s office at a cost not to exceed $18,000.00;

• Upon recommendation from the County Recorder/Auditor and determined that all independent supplemental insurance companies may come and have access to personnel during open enrollment;

• Sending a joint letter, with Barrick Gold, to the State Engineer announcing a cooperative approach to resolving the issues raised by Application 82616;

• Changing the date of the Commissioner meeting scheduled for Nov. 20 to Nov. 25 to avoid a conflict with the State Engineer’s water hearing set for that week regarding applications filed on waters in Diamond Valley, and direct staff to publish the required notification;

• Sending a letter to the Nevada State High School Rodeo Association Board of Directors expressing support for the High School Rodeo to be held Memorial Day Weekend in Eureka;

• Scheduling a joint meeting September 20th with the Eureka County School District Board if it works for the School Board of Trustees to discuss community utilization of the new gymnasium facility in Eureka;

• A request from the Eureka County School District to purchase tax delinquent property APN 002-042-03 located in Crescent Valley and to direct the County Treasurer to begin the required notification process;

• A professional engineering services proposal from Day Engineering for an arsenic treatment pilot study, coordination, and feasibility report on the Devil’s Gate General Improvement District 2 Well #3 for a not to exceed amount of $14,500.00;

• The Senior Center Director to replace a Program Aide (part-time benefited position) at the Fannie Komp Senior Center;

• Ratifying the grant application to Nevada Aging & Disability Services Division for Nutrition Grant #07-000-04-21-13 for home delivered meals in the amount of $22,659.00 with a County match of $3,999.00;

• Grant application to Nevada Aging & Disability Services Division for Nutrition Grant #07-000-07-13-13 for congregate meals in the amount of $17,043.00 with a County match of $3,008.00;

• Accepting Notification of Grant Award from Nevada Aging & Disability Services Division for Nutrition Grant #07-000-57-NX-13 in the amount of $4,165.00 with no County match required;

• Discuss while in Washington, D.C. a response regarding the US Army Corps of Engineers jurisdictional determination on the Humboldt River and tributaries;

• Discuss while in Washington, D.C. the status of the Battle Mountain BLM District RMP revision and consider strategies to ensure adequate participation and coordination;

• Spraying of fall targeted weeds such as knapweed and thistle through contract.
