The weather outside was frightful and the activity was so delightful, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Santa Claus visited Eureka on Saturday evening as residents braved the cold for the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Opera House. The snow on the ground added to the holiday feel as temperatures dropped below zero that night. (Courtesy photo)

The weather outside was frightful and the activity was so delightful, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Santa Claus arrived in Eureka Saturday evening and had the children help him count down from ten for the Christmas Tree Lighting. When the children got to zero, the lights on the tree came on like magic.

The Community Holiday Tree Lighting could not have happened without the support from The Eureka High School Choir and Friends, Eureka County Sheriff, NDOT, Nevada Highway Patrol, Mt. Wheeler Power, Western Nevada Supply, Core Construction, Midway Gold, Sierra Nevada Construction, Newmont Corp., Barrick,  Vogue Dry Cleaning, Eureka Road Department, Mears Catering, Tony Hawks with his team of Clydesdales, Santa Claus and his helpers.

Thank you all for your support.
