BYU a cappella group to perform at Ely Central Theater on Oct. 29

October 22, 2015 by Eureka Sentinel Leave a Comment

White Pine Middle School is pleased to announced that after three long years of trying, BYU’s renowned nine-man a cappella group is coming to Ely for a one-night performance beginning at 7 p.m at Oct. 29. The concert will be held at the Ely Central Theater.

The group combines harmony, humor and remarkable vocal percussions into a thrilling showcase. In 2011, Vocal Point was a top-five finalist on NBC’s hit show, The Sing-Off. The same year they competed in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) and place first runner-up at the finals. They regularly release albums through Tantara Records.

Their performances are for all ages and are crowd pleasers for the young and old alike. Tickets are available at White Pine Middle School or by calling 775-289-4841.

“Their performance had everything one should look for in a champion: technical and musical precision, choreography, humor, polish, style and flair,” Elie Landau, Recorded A Capella Review Board Reviewer, said.

You can also purchase tickets on EventBrite. Reserved Seating is sold out. General Admission tickets are still available at $20 per ticket. Admission is through pre-sale tickets. Reserved seating opens at 6:30 p.m. with general admission open at 6:40 p.m.

This is a once in a decade performance from this highly demanded group. The special pricing on tickets is only possible through the coordination by the WPMS PTO’s volunteer team. All proceeds, after expenses, will be used to support Middle School student needs lost in the recent budget cuts.
