The Bureau of Land Management, Nevada, will be holding a free workshop to provide guidance and tips on public mining claims, June 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Nugget Casino Resort, 1100 Nugget Ave., Sparks, NV.

The workshop will cover topics including locating, mapping and filing claims, land status, transfers of interest, waivers and annual maintenance fees, bonding and surface disturbance.

“There is a lot of information regarding mining claims and having BLM staff on hand to answer questions at workshops like this is a way for the BLM to improve customer service,” said Elaine Guenaga, Supervisory Land Law Examiner for the BLM’s Mineral Adjudication Branch.

Space is limited for the workshop and those interested should RSVP by June 2. To RSVP or for more information contact Karen Goldsmith, 775-861-6408, kgoldsmith@blm.gov or Nathaniel Osborn, 775-861-6449, nosborn@blm.gov.
