Eureka 8th graders Chace Green and Breyana Miller qualified for the National Jr. High School Rodeo Finals beginning June 19 in Lebanon, TN.

Eureka Junior High School 8th grade athletes Chace Green and Breyana Miller-Dubray competed in the 2016 Nevada State Junior High Rodeo Finals held over Memorial Day weekend in Fallon. Both made the short go in all of their events.

Breyana competed in Barrels, Breakaway Roping, Goat Tying, Ribbon Roping (with roping partner Riley Roderick of Jiggs) and the .22 Light Rifle Shooting comptetion.  She placed third in Goats and fourth in Breakaway in the second Go and won the Short Go in Ribbon Roping with her partner.  A goat not staying tied in the first go knocked her out of the average and dropped her from fourth to ninth in the final standings in goat tying.

She finished in the top 10 overall in the state in Goats, Barrels and Breakaway, and finished fifth in Ribbon Roping and in the Light Rifle Shoot as an alternate.

Breyana will be representing Nevada in the shooting competition in Lebanon, TN, moving into the fourth place spot for an individual that is unable to compete at nationals.

Chace Green competed in eight events in the 2015-16 Jr. High rodeo season. At state in Fallon, he qualified for Jr. High Nationals in six events that included two state titles.

He won the state championship in Chute Doggin and BareBack, and also qualified for nationals in Bulls, Breakaway, Saddle Bronc and Goats.

Both will be competing in Lebanon, TN June 19-26.</>
