The first day of 1A Northern track and field regionals were held in Fallon last Friday. It only dealt with a few events, the remainder of the 1A finals will be held today and Saturday at Carson High in Carson City.
Donnie Nelson, NIAA assistant director, said the meet was to determine the top 12 in the 1600 and 3200 meter races and the top nine in all other running and field events to compete at the regional finals this weekend in Carson City.
From there, the top four finishers in each event will advance to the state meet May 19-20 at Foothill High in Henderson.
At Fallon, Katie Damele placed second in the girls 800 meters and Angel Greely was second in the Discus.
