Rosen Reminds Nevadans to Get Covered Through Nevada Health Link During Open Enrollment Season

November 10, 2017 by Eureka Sentinel Leave a Comment

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement reminding Nevadans to get covered through the Nevada Health Link. November 1st marks the start of open enrollment season, which helps Nevadans choose and enroll in health coverage plans best fitting their budgetary and health circumstances:

“This year’s open enrollment for Nevada Health Link is six weeks shorter than in previous years,” said Rosen. “From November 1st through December 15th, it is crucial that Nevada residents seeking health coverage for 2018 visit the Nevada Health Link to learn more about their online marketplace through the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange program. In the meantime, Congress must take swift action to better stabilize insurance markets and reverse the sabotage of our healthcare system. Now is the time for Congress to reach across the aisle and work together on smart, viable solutions that address market instability, lower healthcare costs, improve quality of care, and expand coverage for Nevada’s hardworking families.”

BACKGROUND:  Nevada residents interested in learning more about health coverage options can do so by visiting www.nevadahealthlink.com.

Congresswoman Rosen is a co-sponsor of  H.R.3258, the Marketplace Certainty Act, a bill that would immediately address market instability by controlling costs and keeping insurers from exiting the Silver State Exchange. The bill funds cost-sharing reductions provided by the Affordable Care Act, which would help drive down premiums costs to make insurance plans more affordable for consumers.
