The Eureka County Fair may already be underway, but the fun is just beginning.
The annual fair and rodeo began yesterday with the Youth Team Branding event and the Greased Pig Contest in advance of the packed weekend schedule that starts today.
One of the more popular youth events, the 4-H Livestock Show, takes place today from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the night will be capped off with the Stock Dog Trials from 4 to 8 p.m. Face painting will be available for the little one’s most of the day by the bounce houses.
Saturday is typically the most exciting day of the fair, and this year is set to be no different. The day is highlighted by the always entertaining Mud Volleyball Tournament in addition to the Horseshoe Tournament and Scrabble competition. Bull riding and the Old West Saddle Bronc will cap off the rodeo portion of the weekend before the annual dance at the pavilion at 9 p.m.
Aside from the rodeo events, there will be plenty of fun and events available for all ages including relay races, pie eating contests, watermelon eating contests, plenty of food options and much more.
