Eureka junior Zach Garcia battles an Excel Christian defender in the first round of the playoffs Nov. 3. The Vandals had their season ended Saturday after falling to Tonopah 68-20 in the state semifinals. After falling behind 16-0 in the first quarter, Eureka scored a pair of touchdowns in the second but couldn’t overcome the Muckers offensive attack and trailed 38-14 at half. Tonopah will face Spring Mountain in the 1A title game on Saturday after they knocked off Virginia City 41-24. Eureka finished the season 10-2 overall.
