Eureka competed at the Mickie Costanzo Invitational at West Wendover March 29.

As the month of April begins, Isabella Minolleti is the 1A girls leader in the long jump (14-11) and triple jump (30-8), leading in both events over defending state champion McKenzie Poulsen of Pahranagat Valley.

Among the members on the Eureka boys team, Tristan Bircham leads the state in the 1A boys Shot Put, 38-9, and Discus, 120-1½.

Garrett Todd is the state leader in the high jump (5-10) in the Nevada 1A rankings according to Athletic.net, a national track and field reporting service. He is also listed No. 8 in the long jump (17-1½).

On the Lady Vandals team, four girls are in the top 10 in the 1A discus. Melissa Schweble leads at 28-01, followed by No. 5 Ilyhia Greely (26-9), No. 6 Alia Minoletti (26-4) and No. 8 Skylar Merritt (25-11).

This week the track team is at the Elko Kiwanis Invitational.

In addition, the Vandals baseball and softball teams will be back in action after having been off for the past couple of weeks. They both have doubleheaders at home this week, April 5 with Tonopah and with Mineral County April 6.
