The small, but competitive Eureka Vandal track team participated in the White Pine Invitational meet April 26.

Tristan Bircham and Tyler Blanco represented the small Vandal’s boys team. Bircham, the 1A state leader in the discus, won his specialty.

For the girls, Louisa Terhalle set a personal record in taking second place in the 200 meters. Angelika Townsend was second in the 800 meters and won the 1600 meters. Alia Minoletti and Ilyhia Greely placed 1-2 in the shot put. Greely and Cambria Davis were 1-2 in the discus. Isabella Minoletti was first in the long jump with a new personal record, and she battled defending state champion McKenzie Poulsen of Pahranagat Valley in the triple jump and finished in second place.

This week, May 4, the Vandal teams compete in the Lowry Invitational in Winnemucca.

The 1A, 2A and 3A Northern Regional meet will be May 10-11 at Churchill County High School in Fallon.
