Residents and visitors alike saddled up for Eureka’s “Buckin’ Good Time” Rodeo and County fair held August 8-11.
Hundreds of county fair-goers participated in a weekend-long itinerary full of rodeo competitions, live music, delicious foods and various obstacle courses for people to enjoy, all with free entry.
As another successful year of the County Fair comes to an end, Eureka County Fair Secretary, Letty Bailey shared the event “wouldn’t have been possible without the help of volunteers within the community that donate their time and energy.”

Fair participants had the opportunity to watch livestock shows, showmanship with various animals, gymkhana, mud volleyball tournaments, team branding, team roping and other various festivities. The Fair’s facebook page released stats from prominent competitions congratulating winners of all ages. Bailey also extended congratulations to the contestants to each category.
Team branding competitors in the age group 7-10 competed with Flying Nevada #1 Andree Jo Morrison dominating first place. Team Bliss Hadley Bliss won second place followed by Secret Service Louie Venturacci and Lazy Reverse Spiked S Marvel Sestanovich winning third and fourth place. In the 11- 14 age group Team Sestanovich Charlee Sestanovich won first place followed by KO Team Kayce Osterhoudt, Arrow H Ranch Frankie Buchanan and Nic’s Team Nic Bliss coming in at second, third and fourth place.
Sheep riding winners were shared with Henzley Allen winning first place, Kashton Barton, Wyatt Barton and Evalynn Uhalde winning second, third and fourth retrospectively. Reid Benson, Tucker Trevino, Chett Conley and Rial Coats were awarded as first through fourth place Calf riders. Steer riders Jace Barto, Emmett Gorecki and Samuel Victor took first through third place.
Women’s team rodeo awarded Carico Girls with ladies Kaylee Filippini, Lindy Norcutt, Brynn Lechman and Andrea Sestanovich first place. Team I Don’t Know with Allie Ross, Katie Ross, Charly Seal and Jaylee McEwen came in second. Emkat Rohannah Team composed of Emily Carasco, Katie Gibbs, Hannah Bliss and Rosie Bliss came in third. Goat-ropers Joe Wines and Walker Jones won first place, Joe Wines and Vade Donker won second place and Jed Callister and Walker Jones won third. For the 10 and under category, Cord Neff and Hadley Bliss took home winning titles.
Mens Teams Carrasco Horseshoeing with Trevor Carrasco, Josue Madrigal, Jake Ward and Alam Malotte won first place. Carico Lake Mens with Austin Iveson, John Filippini, Quad McKay and Wes Kerr won second. Norcutt Livestock won third with team members Clay Norcut, Chat Sestanovich, Rosco Rhodes and Jesse Norcutt.
Co-Ed teams Norcutt Co-Ed was also congratulated with first place with teammates Clay Norcutt, Lindy Norcutt, Brynn Lehman and Jesse Norcut.
Beto Solis Co-Ed with members Beto Solis, Malachi Malotte, Miranda Draper and Amanda Draper were awarded second place title. Third place was allotted to Alan Malotte, Monel Malotte, Hadley Malotte and Jake ward.
Each year, the County Fair delivers good-times as competitors and viewers alike partake in a community event dedicated to providing a good time.
