Annual Eureka car show comes to town May 8-9

1Eureka’s annual Show What Ya Brung car show will return to town May 8 -9.

Bring your favorite ride, whether it’s a hot rod, vintage, custom or your daily driver (motorcycles welcome also) and enjoy some great hospitality.  Although there is no admission fee for the public, there is a registration fee of $40 per car which includes two T-shirts and a dash plaque. Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded.

• Best of Show $500
• Best of each Class: $100 and Trophies (total 22 winners)
• Best of each Class: 2nd place: $50 and Trophies (total 22 winners)
• Best of each Class: 3rd place: Trophies only (total 22 winners)

Activities will begin on Friday the May 8 at the Eureka Airport Booth Bailey Field-5 miles north of Eureka on State Route 278 with drag races for all cars and motorcycles. A great day of racing is planned with gates opening at 9 a.m. and open racing beginning at 10. Track length is a quarter mile, track width 60 is feet, and shut down distance approximately 4,200 feet.

Open racing will end at 1:30 p.m. and bracket racing will begin at 2 p.m. The entry fee is $10 per driver. “DIALING FOR DOLLAR$” begins immediately after the last bracket race. The entry fee for “DIALING FOR DOLLAR$” is $20 and is separate from any other fees. Trophies will be presented after the final race in each bracket. The Main Street “Cruise-in” will be Friday evening. DJ Bill Micheli will provide music and entertainment both Friday and Saturday.

The car show will display along both sides of Eureka’s historic Main Street on Saturday.  There will be a free mini-train and bounce castle for kids as well as a number of other vendors.

After you enjoy some of your favorite cars and street vendors, plan to visit our historic downtown business district where you can enjoy our modern services and western hospitality. Eureka is one of the best-preserved old mining towns in Nevada.

All events are open to the public and there is no admission charge for viewing the car show, drag races, or participating in the yard sale.
