County Commission News

Eureka County Commissioners approved:

• (Meeting as the Devil’s Gate GID) An application from Shane & Leanna Cantrell (APN 007-391-03, 389 El Centro) for a ¾-inch residential water service in the Devil’s Gate General Improvement District #2;

• Signing an engagement letter with Eide Bailly, LLP, for FY 2014-2015 annual audit which service is provided under a three-year contract with Eide Bailly (formerly Kafoury, Armstrong & Co.) to provide audits of FY13, FY14, and FY15;

• Ratifying the Board’s determination that the County will not accept the donation of APN 001- 071-06 from Biale Family Trust for purposes of building a Veterans Memorial Park in Eureka due to current budget constraints unless grants, donations, or other funding is obtained to cover all related costs including appraisal; and send a letter to Biale Family Trust and notify other interested parties of the Board’s decision;

• Setting the first Commission meeting in September for Sept. 8;

• Invitation from Nevada Department of Health & Human Services for EMS Coordinator, Mike Sullivan, to participate in a workgroup for the Nevada Crisis Standards of Care Advisory Committee;

• Waiving the hiring freeze to hire a replacement Custodian/Housekeeper for the Eureka Senior Center;

• Accepting the resignations of Susan Fye and Jennifer Sharkozy from the Senior Centers Advisory Board;

• A quotation from Reyman Brothers Construction for selective demolition, electrical work, case work, paint, carpet, and specialty glazing in the Eureka Justice Court in an amount not to exceed $39,010.92 to be paid for out of the Eureka Justice Court Facility Fund;

• A quotation from Reno Business Interiors for office furniture for the Eureka Justice Court in an amount not to exceed $6,670.11 to be paid for out of the Eureka Justice Court Facility Fund;

• A quotation from Boart/Longyear to drill and sample an exploratory/pilot borehole (Items 1-9 on Bid Schedule A of the Stevens Basin Construction Documents & Specifications) in the Stevens Basin, PWP No. EU-2015- 188, in the amount of $171,150.00 which will not include reaming the hole and development of a well;

• Signing a contract with Business Continuity Technologies to provide IT and network management services for the 2015-2016 Fiscal Year effective August 1, 2015;

• Out-of-state travel for Steve Zimmerman and Joyce Jeppesen to attend the Utah Fall Substance Abuse Conference in St. George, Utah, scheduled Sept. 22 thru 25th;
