Crescent Valley welcomes new pastor

Crescent Valley Baptist Church (CVBC) would like to welcome Virgil W. Christophersen as its new church pastor. The vote was held at the church’s monthly business meeting on Sunday, June 1.

Virgil and his wife Kate are graduates of Corban University (formerly Western Baptist College) in Salem, Oregon.   

Kate is a third-grade teacher at Battle Mountain Elementary School. The couple previously attended Fellowship Baptist Mission in Battle Mountain.  

Virgil has been a visiting preacher at Crescent Valley Baptist for the last two months, demonstrating his dynamic lessons and sermons. Both Virgil and Kate are looking forward to spending more time getting to know the people of Crescent Valley. They are currently looking for a home to rent or buy in CV. 

Kate has a heart toward children’s ministry and is looking forward to reviving the church’s Sunday School department, which has been mostly inactive.

The community is invited to drop by and meet both Pastor Virgil and Kate. You might also catch Pastor Virgil on Thursday afternoon from 12:30 to 2 p.m. during Tressa’s Closet.   

CVBC meets on Sundays. The schedule is as follows:

9:30 a.m. – Coffee

10 a.m. – Sunday School 

11 a.m. – Worship

5 p.m. – Bible Study

CVBC also meets Wednesday nights at 5 p.m.
