Dinner, raffle benefit on tap for April 16

March 26, 2015 by Eureka Sentinel Leave a Comment

Several local groups, individuals, and churches are holding a benefit spaghetti dinner and raffle for Rhonda Garaventa at the Opera House on April 16, 2015 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

In addition to the dinner, a raffle, silent auction, and a baked-goods raffle will be held during the meal.

Many big-ticket items have been donated which are available now to bid on. Among those items are a Garcia Silver Bit donated by J.M. Capriola and two rifles, one from the Conley family and the other from VT Construction.

The event, started by friends and co-workers of Rhonda at Ruby Hill mine, seemed to take on a life of its own once it began.

“We have over 50 raffle prizes including a 42” flat screen TV., a gas barbecue grill, and two handmade quilts,” noted Laurel Marshall, a co-worker and friend of Rhonda’s who is helping organize the event. “The items just keep coming in daily. The response has been incredible.”

The silent auction items can be viewed and bid on at the Eureka County Courthouse. The two rifles are on display at Eureka Services and bids on those items can be made at that store or at the Courthouse.

Anyone can place a bid on the silent auction items up to the conclusion of the spaghetti dinner on April 16th. Also included in this auction is a break- away and goat-tying clinic, two handmade quilts, a spotting scope, and two paintings, among other items.

Raffle tickets are $1.00 each, dinner is $5.00 per adult and $2.00 per child. Three years and under can eat for free. Dinner is sponsored by the St. Brendan’s Catholic Church, Diamond Valley Baptist Church, Eureka Community Church, LDS Church, Clark Burton, and employees at General Moly.

If you are interested in donating or participating, please stop by the Eureka County Courthouse, the Annex, the school, or at Ruby Hill mine.

All proceeds will go to Rhonda Garaventa. Any donation can be made to an account at the local Nevada State Bank.
