Ellen Marie Damele

January 4, 1920 – September 7, 2013

Mom was born in Pocatello, Idaho, January 4, 1920, to Lincoln and Julie Holley.  She was raised in Ruth, Nevada and went to White Pine High School, however; her education was cut short when she married her late husband Leo Damele, Sr. August 4, 1936, in Elko, Nevada.

Thus began a long and rigorous life in the ranching business at the Tonkin and JD Ranches where, along with her sister Nita, who married Charles Damele, Leo’s brother,  they raised their families and fed hungry hay crews.

She finished her education in 2006, and at the age of 86, became a Eureka Alumni.

She loved reading and crochet, chickens, gardening, fishing, babies and she was the greatest of cooks.

She is survived by her son – Leo Damele, Jr. who lives in Diamond Valley, Nevada; daughters – Carol Heim of Fairfield, California and Antone Damele who lives in Pine Valley, Nevada; a sister – Vivian Gardner of Alta, California; a brother – Douglas Holley of Red Oak, Oklahoma; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren

She was a very kind, generous and loving Mother who is very deeply missed.

Rosary;  Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, 6 p.m. at St Brendon’s Catholic Church, Eureka, Nevada.

Grave Side Services; Friday, Sept.13, 2013, 10 a.m. at the Eureka Catholic Cemetery
