Eureka Business Network Hosts Halloween Carnival

November 12, 2014 by Eureka Sentinel Leave a Comment

On Oct. 31, Eureka Business Network hosted its 2nd annual Halloween Carnival at the Eureka Elementary School. Held in the multipurpose room from 3-6pm, the free admission carnival featured a howl-worthy haunted house, costume contest, and a variety of booths. Entertaining games included the Fish Pond, Bean Bag Toss, Fortune Telling, Duck Pond, Cake Walk, Ping Pong Toss, Spin the Wheel, Dead Man’s Drop, Pumpkin Chuckin’, Ring Toss, Ghost Darts, and the Guessing Game.

The ever-popular Cake Walk had a fantastic display of donated cakes, cookies and desserts vied for by many. Halloween inspired prizes for participants were stuffed plush toys and/or inflatable crazy creatures, squishy skulls, glow bracelets and necklaces, as well as a wide variety of smaller prizes. Awards were presented to the winners of the five categories of the costume contest: Lucy Orozco (Best Costume), Destiny Daly (Scariest Costume), Jake Baumann (Funniest Costume), Gavin Bowling (Most Creative Costume) and the Schweble Family (Best Family Costume).

Mouthwatering pizza was provided by Sloppy Joe’s, water was donated by Nevada Rural Housing Authority, and popcorn was sponsored by EBN. The Sheriff’s office contributed trick or treat bags with safety goodies for all the costumed kiddies. Additional sponsors included Barrick Ruby Hill, Eureka County Rec Board, Owl Club Steakhouse and General Moly.

The success of the carnival is due to the support and generosity of time from the many volunteers and sponsors. EBN sends out tremendous appreciation and gratitude to all the volunteers who donated their time and energy to make the event such a huge success. Friends and family stepped in at the last minute to ensure the children of the community enjoyed the various games and booths at the carnival. Additionally, EBN expresses gratitude to the sponsors and contributors of the fun filled event.
All in attendance enjoyed a ghoulishly good time!
