Eureka Conservation District, in correlation with National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) Stewardship Program, is holding another year to celebrate art skills among local youth with the poster contest that commemorates conservation. This year’s theme, “May the Forest Be with You Always”, calls on local youth to create a hand-drawn poster that encapsulates the message that encourages “responsible use of our forests, preserving their ecological benefits and ensuring their resources are available for future generations.” With a deadline of October 21, students are encouraged to begin their posters now!
This contest is open to public and homeschool youth between the grades k-12. Winners from each age group will be awarded: $50 for first place, $30 for second place and $20 for third place. Top three entries from each category will be submitted to the state poster contest. First place winners from the state poster contest will be submitted to the national contest. Local schools including, EES, ECHS, CVHS, and Duckwater ShoShone Elementary, have access to the poster informational packets provided. Students attending Pine Valley and home school students can visit the Department of Natural Resources to receive the informational packets.
