The Nevada Youth Range Camp invites Nevadan high school students (age 15-18 years old) to head down to Schell Creek Range (Barry Creek, NE of McGill, NV) from June 15 to June 21 for a weeklong camp offering hands-on learning opportunities. Students will learn about rangelands, wildlife management and resource conservation. Through field-based learning on soils, students will explore the Silver State’s educational outdoor activities. Expect to camp, hike and learn various methods for survival in the wilderness from guidance from natural resource professionals.
Learning modules include Soils, Pinyon-Juniper Management, Wildlife Management, Riparian Interactions, the Sagebrush Environment, Coordinated Resource Management, Orienteering and Conservation Project Implementation.
