Eureka County Connect releases itinerary of fun events coming in January

Locals can begin the new year by participating in a number of events put on throughout the county for individuals of any age. 

Eureka’s Mybrary, located at 80 S. Monroe St, will hold Story Time every Friday beginning at 2 p.m. Children can expect to listen to fun adventures, stories, songs and occasional crafts. For more information, call (775) 237-5307 or visit www.exploremybrary.org.

Eureka County Juvenile Probation’s youth wrestling classes begin Jan. 6 from 5:45-6:30 p.m. at the youth athletic center on the second floor. Kindergarten and first grade classes will be held on Mondays. Second and third grade classes will be on Tuesdays, and fourth through sixth grade classes will be on Wednesdays. Coach Jeremy Auch will instruct students. Anyone interested in assisting in coaching the program or who has questions can call (775) 237-5450.

The Eureka Veterans of Foreign Wars (WVF) will hold their next meeting on Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. in the commission boardroom. All members are encouraged to attend and connect with fellow veterans in order to stay informed on upcoming events within the community. For more information, reach out to local VWF members. 

A Catholic Charities event will be held Jan. 16 at 3:30 p.m. at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church, located at 70 N. O’Neil Avenue. For questions or more information, reach out to Sally Goicoechea at (775) 318-0065 or stbrendans1867@gmail.com.

The Eureka County Swimming Pool’s Glow-Up party is set for Jan. 23 from 6-8 p.m. The public is invited to listen to live music from DJ BRenna and float with animal floaties, glow sticks and laser lights. 

The swimming pool also hosts weekly events, including Aquasize Classes and Poolside Yoga. Aquasize Fitness class is held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2-3 p.m. Poolside Yoga is held every Tuesday and Thursday from 8-9 a.m. For more information regarding upcoming events and classes, reach out to Brenna at (775) 237-5316 or (775) 217-2865.
