Eureka Elementary hosts Christmas concert

Led by Mr. Ralph Cuda, Eureka County School District’s K-12 music teacher, the children from Eureka Elementary School performed their annual Christmas concert on the night of Dec. 11.

Dressed in their finest Christmas attire, the singers and musicians took to the elementary school stage to celebrate the holiday season with each other and the community. The line-up included:

  • Preschool and Kindergarten – “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” and “The Lights on the Tree”
  • First, Second and Third Grade Choir – “Silver and Gold,” with Audrey Goettle, Jeb Rowley, Mae Rowley and Boone Tibbets on the xylophone; “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” with special vocal skill by Dillon Dechambeau, Bradley Sestanovich, Reagan Taylor and Jeb Rowley; and “Must Be Santa.”
  • Violin Solo – “Jingle Bells: Classical Style,” performed by Carter Willis
  • Third Grade Handbells – “The First Noel” and “Joy To the World”
  • Fourth Grade Recorder Ensemble – “Jingle Bells: Boogie Woogie Style,” with solos by Chevelle Jenkins, Maddison Pierce and Christopher Hudson, and “Amazing Grace,” with solos by Jovanny Dominguez, Rhett Berg, Jackson Jorge and Harbor Kemp.
  • Combined Fifth and Sixth Grade Band – “The Dreidel Song,” with Hayden Osmotherly on trumpet and Reid Benson on alto sax; “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” with Kaitlynn Bell on clarinet; “Jingle Bells: Jazz Style,” with Mae Rowley and Georgia Whimple on clarinet; “Jolly Old St. Nick,” with Viviana Minoletti and Leila Venturacci on flute and Marvel Sestanovich and Michaela Tye on clarinet; “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” with Westin Taylor and Matthew Mahoney on trumpet; “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” with Mae Rowley and  Georgia Whimple on clarinet; “Deck the Halls” and “Jingle Bell Rock,” with Audrey Goettle on the flute; and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” with Boone Tibbets and Ralph Cuda on the French horn.
  • High School Band – “A Can Can Christmas”
  • Eureka County Christmas – Led by Michael Mears

An appearance from Santa Claus wrapped up the festivities.

Sincerest appreciation is extended to the Eureka County Board of School Trustees, Tate Else, Eureka County School District superintendent Lisa Hutchinson, Eureka Elementary principal John Glover, Eureka County High School principal, Eureka Elementary school staff, Eureka Elementary school support staff, custodial staff, Mike Mears and Kim Russell. Without them, this concert would not have been possible.
