The inaugural Eureka Poker Run will take place on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Eureka Fairgrounds, bringing together riders, drivers, and community members for a day of fun, competition and philanthropy. Proceeds from the event will benefit the new Boys & Girls Club Early Learning Center in Eureka, serving infants and toddlers ages six weeks to five years old. Construction on the facility is set to break ground later this year, expanding critical early childhood services for local families.
Check-in for riders begins at 9:00 a.m., with the ride departing at 10:00 a.m. The cost to participate is $75 per vehicle. Riders and drivers will travel a scenic route, stopping along the way to collect cards for their poker hand, before returning to the fairgrounds for prizes and festivities.
The event will feature a raffle, mobile auction, food trucks, and the crowd-favorite Cow Pie Drop, where participants can purchase squares for a chance to win. Importantly, you don’t have to ride to join the fun — community members are encouraged to attend and take part in the activities at the fairgrounds.
“This event is about bringing people together to support a project that will shape the future of our youngest learners,” said Colie Glenn, CDO Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows. “The Eureka Early Learning Center will fill a vital need and the Poker Run is our way of rallying the community to help make it happen.”
