Two one-hit 15-0 shutouts by Wells pitcher Samantha Shamblin were painful for the Eureka Vandals softball team at Wells last week.
Her first one-hitter in the opener saw her strike out seven Lady Vandals.
The Leopards exploded for 11 runs in the third inning to end the game early.
For Eureka (0-10, 0-4), Cammie Skinner surrendered 15 hits, walked five and struck out two. Mikala Talbot got the only hit for Eureka.
In the second game, the Vandals fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a second loss to the Leopards (12-2, 2-0).
Shamblin again threw a one hit shutout. She also had a run-scoring double in the game.
Skinner again struggled to contain Wells batters. She gave up 15 runs on 14 hits and struck out one and walked seven.
Shauna Brown go the only hit for Eureka in the third inning
As with the boys this week, the girls also ace Tonopah in non-league action on Saturday and host Wells again on Tuesday.
