For the fourth consecutive year, the Eureka County High School volleyball team won the 1A East regional championship. They head to Las Vegas on Nov. 7 to vie for the state tournament. Their first match is against Liberty Baptist Academy Knights, the number two seed in the south. Game time is 6:20 p.m. at Sunrise Mountain High School.

The Lady Vandals took home their fourth consecutive league championship and are set to play in the State Tournament held Nov. 7-10 in Las Vegas.
The Lady Vandals defeated the Lund Mustangs in their first match of the regional tournament last weekend in Elko. Winning in three sets, 25-13, 25-12 and 25-8, the Vandals breezed past the Mustangs to punch their ticket to the state tournament.
Eureka then played the Carlin Railroaders for the regional title. They also won this match in three sets, 26-24, 25-16, and 25-9. It’s no easy feat to win a regional volleyball title, and the Lady Vandals have earned the victory four years in a row.
Head Coach Kati Benson said at the beginning of their season, “The volleyball team looks really good. They play well together and work so hard. The girls are such great teammates to one another and support each other on the court. I love to watch them play. It’s going to be an exciting season for us.”
And exciting it has been. The Vandals head into the state tournament with a 26-4 overall record this year.
