Dear Editor,

On Aug. 5, my husband and I traveled to Eureka from Elko to watch the special, Portable Masterpieces at the Eureka Opera House. The symphony composed of 9 talented musicians played a wide selection of songs from operas to popular movie songs.

In the Opera House, with its wonderful acoustics, the 9 players sounded like a full orchestra, all without any electric instruments or amplification.

Thanks to Eureka Opera House manager, Patty Peek for all the work arranging the Portable Masterpieces to come and perform in rural Nevada.

A lovely night it was.
