A mother-daughter team has started a brand-new tradition in Eureka, bringing aid in the frigid months ahead with a winter clothes drive. There are multiple opportunities for donation, as well as the chance to pick up something to stay warm as snow descends.
The event features multiple places to drop off lightly used to new clothes. Boots, coats, socks, sweaters, beanies and anything else that may bring someone warmth in the rapidly approaching cold are welcome.

Once the gathering has finished, there will be a time and place to pick up some new winter clothes.
“We want everyone to have the opportunity,” said Katie Ziemann, who spoke of the dreams and goals that were brought about by seeing a coat drive with her mother. “We were inspired to do something too.”
Togethe,r they created this drive not only for coats, but winter apparel of all types. Whether your coat is just a little small and you are looking for a new fit, or you do not have any winter protection at all, Ziemann is encouraging everyone to get involved.
The drop-off locations for the coming event include the courthouse, the annex, the high school, the senior center and the sheriff’s station. Bring by gently used or new clothes for others up until Nov. 18, the cut-off time for donations.
Beginning in late November, pick-ups will be available at the community church on Nov. 22 from 1 to 3 p.m., the Eureka Depot on Nov. 25 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and the community church again on Nov. 28 from 1 to 3 p.m.
