CARSON CITY – The Nevada State Treasury unveiled the Nevada Health Equity & Loan Assistance (HEAL) Program on Monday, Jan. 13. This program aims to incentivize healthcare professionals to serve in underserved communities across Nevada by offering up to $120,000 in student loan repayment.
To be eligible for the HEAL Program, healthcare providers must:
- Be a resident of Nevada.
- Work in a qualifying healthcare profession.
- Hold a valid license, certification, or registration to practice in Nevada.
- Commit to practicing in an underserved community for at least five years.
The program is open to a wide range of healthcare professionals, including:
- Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians
- Associates in Social Work
- Audiologists
- Clinical Professional Counselors
- Clinical Social Workers
- Dentists
- Doulas
- Emergency Medical Technicians
- Licensed Nurses
- Licensed Attendants
- Master Social Workers
- Midwives
- Optometrists
- Paramedics
- Perfusionists
- Pharmacists
- Pharmacy Technicians
- Physicians
- Physician Assistants
- Podiatric Physicians
- Practitioners of Respiratory Care
- Psychologists
- Social Workers
Applications from healthcare providers will be accepted starting on January 15th. The application window will remain open for 30 days, closing on February 13th.
