Registered sex offender arrested in Crescent Valley

A registered sex offender was arrested in Crescent Valley, Nevada, and is being held in Ely due to a contract between Eureka and White Pine County. On Saturday, Aug. 31, the Eureka County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) arrested Fenton “Wade” Jones of Eureka, a registered sex offender, for several new sex offenses. 

Initial information was shared with ECSO about Jones possibly attempting to groom a 14-year-old girl. He had allegedly made plans to meet her in Crescent Valley to serenade her and have sex with her. Jones admitted to talking with the juvenile female and was transported to the White Pine County Detention Center. 

Jones was arrested on the following charges:

-Lure a Child with the Use of Computer Technology 

-Lure a Child with the Use of Computer Technology involving Material harmful to Minor

-Attempt to Use or Permit Minor (age 14 or Older) to Produce Pornography 

-Posession of Visual Pornogropahy Material of Person under 16 

-Use of Internet to Control Visual Presentation Depicting Pornography of Person Under Age of 16 

Multiple search warrants were executed on the vehicle Jones was driving when arrested at the Red Barn (a local business not affiliated with the arrest), his residence, additional vehicle and RV. 

ECSO is looking for other potential victims. If you or someone you know is a victim of Jones, you can anonymously report it on the ECSO app or email seek@eurekacountynv.gov. This is an ongoing investigation.
