Eureka runners make the baton exchange in the 4×400 relay race. They are currently third in the statewide 1A rankings.

Even though the Vandal boys only have six members, they still managed a good showing in the field events as well as a second place finish in the 4×400 relay, and earned 37 points good for fourth place in a 10-team field at the White Pine Invitational meet last Friday in Ely.

The Lady Vandals saw the relay teams take third place in the 4×100 and 4×200 relays. Angelika Townsend was second in the Triple Jump to help the girls tally 21.5 points.

Spring Creek brought a large team and dominated most of the events in the boys and girls meets.

This week, Eureka competes at the Lowry Invitational in Winnemucca on Saturday.

The teams are also aiming their sights a little bit as well at the Northern Regional meet next week in Yerington.

Barring any injuries, the boys 4×400 relay team is third in the state wide 1A rankings, Angel Greely is third in girls shotput, Alia Minoletti is second in the High Jump and Triple Jump, and Townsend is third in the Triple Jump.

The Northern 3A-1A Regionals will be May 11-12 at Yerington High School.

The NIAA state meet will be in Carson City May 18-19.
