The Eureka High School girls volleyball team maintained its top seed in the 1A Eastern League with road wins over Owyhee on Friday and Carlin on Saturday, Oct. 19.
With the second-seeded Lund Mustangs also getting wins over the Braves and Railroaders, the Vandals needed to do the same. Eureka got the weekend started right with a straight-set win over Owyhee on Friday, Oct. 18, 25-12, 25-17, 25-20.
Saturday’s match at Carlin went similarly, with the Vandals victorious by a score of 25-12, 25-13, 25-20.
“The girls have been playing really well as a team. They are supporting each other and being great teammates,” said EHS head coach Kait Benson. “There’s a lot of positive energy on the floor. If they keep being positive and working together, we will do very well in the postseason.”
The Vandals (8-8, 8-1) host Wells (6-18, 4-4) for the final match of the regular season on Friday at 5 p.m.
