Wednesday, May 20, i-80 Gold hosted a Coffee & Conversations event at the Crescent Valley Town Center from 9:30 a.m. to noon, featuring coffee, pastries and conversation, giving Crescent Valley residents a chance to hear company and project updates and ask questions.
Allison Anderson and Andrea Corral came on behalf of i-80 and visited with Crescent Valley locals, including Marcial Evertsen and his daughter, Addison.
Corral said i-80 Gold “is really excited to work with the entirety of Eureka County” and “just got funding to go through Phase 1, 2 and 3 of our projects” and has the “ability to start hiring more people.” Corral said, “We really want to get involved with Crescent Valley,” and hoped some people from Crescent Valley might want to make the drive to Eureka and work at Ruby Hill. She added, “We’re presenting at the town board next month to give a more detailed presentation and give more timelines and numbers.”
Corral said, “It’s nice to be part of a mining team that’s still small enough where everyone knows each other.” Corral and Anderson are both from Reno and went to UNR. i-80 Gold headquarters is in Reno, and they’re “working on” opening an office in Eureka. Anderson said, “It would be great to have a presence in town,” and “they’re looking at building some sort of visitor’s center” to “highlight the history and future of mining in Eureka.” Anderson said, “Especially if it could be on Main Street.
Corral agreed, “We really want to be on Main Street.”
