On May 22, 2026, the Eureka County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shot fired in the area of the Phoenix Convenience Store in Crescent Valley, Nevada.

The Lander County Sheriff’s Office, the Elko County Sheriff’s Office and the Carlin Police Department arrived in Crescent Valley to assist with the search for a male subject possibly associated with the gunshot.

After a thorough search of the area around Crescent Avenue and Second Street, the Eureka County Sheriff’s Office deputies located a male subject deceased from a single, self-inflicted gunshot. Eureka County will not release the name of man until next of kin have been notified.
