Though Eureka County Commission Chairman Rich McKay withdrew from his re-election campaign, his name remains on the primary ballot.
“Even though I suspended my campaign, I am on the ballot due to Nevada law,” McKay explained in a recent interview. “I would defer any detailed questions you may have to clerk/recorder Kathy Bowling, and she can address those for you.”
When asked what he would do if he won the race anyway, McKay would have to consider next steps.
“That’s a really good question,” he said. “If that did occur, I would have to discuss with my family and make a decision whether to serve or to resign and have the governor appoint a replacement.”
