Molly Walt, Chief Executive Officer of the Nevada Rural Counties RSVP Program, Inc., has been appointed to serve on the Nevada Task Force on Alzheimer’s Disease.

The statewide task force operates within the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services. Walt’s appointment brings a rural Nevada perspective to the group, reflecting her work with older adults, individuals living with dementia, family caregivers and rural communities across the state.
“I am deeply honored to be appointed to serve on the Nevada Task Force on Alzheimer’s Disease,” Walt said. “Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia affect not only the individual, but their families, caregivers and entire communities. I look forward to working alongside the members of the Task Force to strengthen access to services, quality of care, quality of life and public awareness, while ensuring the needs of rural Nevadans are represented.”
Created during the 2013 Legislative Session following the passage of Assembly Bill 80, the Task Force on Alzheimer’s Disease is staffed by the Aging and Disability Services Division. The group is responsible for carrying out and regularly updating the Nevada State Plan to Address Alzheimer’s Disease, which serves as a blueprint for developing a comprehensive support system for affected individuals. The task force concentrates on four core areas: access to services, quality of care, quality of life and public awareness.
“Rural communities face unique challenges in accessing dementia-related services, caregiver support and specialized resources,” Walt noted. “I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this important statewide work and help ensure rural communities, individuals living with dementia and their caregivers have a voice.”
As Chief Executive Officer of RSVP, Walt oversees volunteer and direct-service programs across 15 rural Nevada counties. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization has served state communities for over five decades, providing transportation, homemaker care, respite, personal emergency response systems, companionship and volunteer initiatives designed to help seniors, individuals with disabilities, caregivers and veterans maintain their independence.
